Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland has warned the X Factor winner Joe McElderry that the hard work is only just beginning if he wants a long-term career in music.
Rowland, who has been rumoured as a possible new judge on the X Factor, said the 50 million-selling Destiny’s Child benefited from years honing their act before hitting the big time.
Speaking before headlining Sir Elton John’s AIDS Foundation ball at the Grosvenor House hotel, Rowland told said: “It took Destiny’s Child six years to get a record deal. Sometimes there is a waiting list and you have to struggle and have patience.
