Kelly Rowland will have her dancing shoes on during her upcoming Australian visit.
The former Destiny’s Child diva is remaining tight-lipped about whether rumours she will be performing at Sydney’s Mardi Gras are true.
But following the global success of When Love Takes Over, her Grammy Award-winning song with French DJ David Guetta, Rowland admits she’s got a case of dance fever.
Rowland said the song was inspired by seeing Guetta perform at a French nightclub.
“(It was) just the feeling I felt that night of being in the club and looking at everybody just loving music – those people looked like they wanted to explode when David was spinning,” Rowland told AAP from Miami.
“I was like, I want people to feel like that when they hear this song, like dancing and not caring what time it is or what you have on.
“You know what I mean? It’s just living in that moment. It’s so important.”
A perfect anthem to perform at Mardi Gras then?
“I don’t know, we’ll see,” she said carefully.
“I am there promoting with David, so we’ll see what happens.”
When Love Takes Over was co-written by Australian twins Miriam and Olivia Nervo.
The former models turned songwriters are also reported to be writing songs for Britney Spears and Beyonce.
“I love writing with other artists and writers, and when I got a chance to go into the studio with Australia’s own Nervo, Mim and Liv, we all wrote When Love Takes Over together,” Rowland said.
“We had fun above anything. We did it right inside of my hotel room, and we were just bouncing off each other.
“There was so much energy and it was my very first meeting with them. The first meeting turned into a hit record, so I’m just so happy I got a chance to know the girls.”
Dance music will be a major inspiration on Rowland’s new album, which she is currently writing and recording.
She has laid down 35 songs written with artists like Nelly and Ne-yo but is only happy with about six of them.
“I’m very particular, very picky,” she laughed

She better get happy about more than six songs,because we need this album now. I don’t want to have to wait another year for it like we had to wait for Ms.Kelly because she decided to redraft the entire album. How can you have recorded 35 songs and only like six? That doesn’t even sound right. I thought she was having such fun in the studio recording “dance songs” and “big records”. Kelly better bring us the heat. THIS YEAR!!

You got that right. it time for her to give us what we want. I hope that we don’t have to wait until year of 2011. This mean that she is not ready at all to face the world with new music. not mo more when love to take over. we had a enough of this song.
I’m sure her album will drop this year but you all have top realize that artisit record about 40 songs or more for an album but only 12 songs make the actual album. Songs have made her album before that she was too excited about. Look at it as 6 songs that she feels has potential to be #1 songs. I think thats what she is trying to convey. Not saying she recorded 35 but hate 29 of them. She is obviously having fun in the studio but I remember her saying she get a gut feeling about some songs like “WLTO” and know its gonna be a huge hit. As of now expect 6 #1 hits off the album LOL. Do your thang Kells!
hold up with all the bad vibes – kelly4eva and joan ive known u for a while now and ive never heard u 2 speak that way about ms kelly and her decisions – im so ready for something new from her but just getting all the cute lil updates about what shes doing behind the scenes just gets me more amped – have u noticed none of her tracks have leaked – do u want the whole album on the net before she even has time to promote it? (ie Ms Kelly) just give the woman time to do things they way she wants it – shes at a new lable creating a new sound with new ppl around her – it takes time to adjust – the next album has the potential to solidify her place as a smash solo artist at the top of the charts where she belongs – she knows how important this album has to be and how important this move is for her – trust in her abilities – AND CALM DOWN!!!! ms kelly got this!!!
Lyric Lee, I’m not trying to be negative or mean or send off “bad vibes”. I just get nervous when I read quotes like that one because we all know what happened the last time Kelly decided that she wasn’t satisfied with an album. She redrafted the whole thing and released it a year after she was originally supposed to. There was no buzz surrounding the album and it didn’t do as well as it could have. People are ANTICIPATING this album. They’re excited about the fact that she has new management,a new label,a new sound and is working with top notch producers. Kelly is still spinning from the international,grammy winning hit that was “When Love Takes Over”. There is so much buzz surrounding her right now and this is the perfect time for her to release new music. I just don’t want her to stall and lose all of this momentum. I don’t want her to fall under the radar. I know that Kelly is very serious about her craft. That is one of the things I love about her but I’m tired of someone as talented as Kelly is missing the mark(market wise) and blowing any chance that she has at shining as brightly as she can. I guess I’m just anxious(though I know I should “be anxious for nothing”). I don’t want anything to go wrong this time around and YES I really do want an album from Kelly THIS YEAR!
