Make sure you guys explain why you like the albums!!! (just b/c its Kelly is not an excuse! lol)

It’s quite hard for me to pick a favourite as I love both just as much. Not including the Deluxe. So they’re both my favourites.
Simply Deep, I think one of the biggest reasons why I love it is because it was the beginning of her solo career and it brought her confidence as a solo artist; and that confidence kept growing over the years. But of course apart from that I think the songs on the album are amazing. Concerning the songs that stood out to me the most, it was of course “Dilemma”, and also “Stole” and “Beyond Imagination”. I think both describe the reality nowadays very well, and a lot of people can relate especially to those songs.
Ms. Kelly, it is also my favourite, again not only because of the great songs, but also because it shows a lot of growth and I think it’s amazing when you get to realize that by listening to two albums from different eras. “Flashback” really stood out to me because I felt like it was different, and I also love the lyrics. “Comeback” is also one of the songs that stood out to me the most on the album, the title says it all; she got that comeback. “Work” and “Better Without You” are also favourites; “Work”, it always makes me wanna get up and dance. It’s such a feel good song. And “Better Without You”, so many people can relate to that and I think it’s amazing how it makes you stronger if you’re going through the same thing.
P.S. TREVOR!!! SMH!! You had me writing novels.

I like both alnuns, but I think 2nd was better than the 1st. I was really sad that the single comback wasn’t released.. I hope this time she fights for songs that wants as singles. I have to say that the song haven’t told you and love/hate from the 1st album. And Still in love with my ex and comback and unity from the 2nd album. I feel like the 3rd album will be the best of her yet and wish does another few as well. Beavuse we want kelly come and stay, we don’t want to do this album and leave long gap, she do at least another two before taking breaks; to consistent like other artists such as Bey. RiRi and Gaga. I am sure when she come out this time no one will STOP her. We love you and we all praying for you that your album will come fantastic. Take care!!!

Better Album: Ms. Kelly- its showed a mature Kelly where she poured out her raw emotion in most of the songs.
Most memorable songs: Unity, Love and This is love. Also Stole.

Likewise i love both, Simply Deep because it was then she was introduced to us as Kelly Rowland. But i have to say my face is Ms Kelly. The latter just shows her growth, and individuality. And she took her time with it, and it sure shows.

I bought both albums and enjoyed them both because both albums explained things that we go through in life. On Simply Deep the stood out tracks to me were Love/Hate you and Love lives in strange places. Ms. Kelly would be hard to choose a favorite because that CD was amazing. Still in love w/ my ex and Love were two great songs among others. If I had to choose one of the albums I would choose Ms. Kelly because her emotions were more into the songs and I related more to the songs that she were singing about.

I like all 3 for different reasons.

On Simply Deep Kelly showed how versatile she is, and how she can go any direction she wants.

On Ms. Kelly she really showed us that power that we got a taste of on Destiny Fufilled. She didn’t allow the must to over power her and she was so sexy.

On Diva Deluxe she showed us why there is no reason she shouldn’t be a crossover success. A powerhouse.

Ms. Kelly was definitely the most fluid compilation. You could play it straight through without re arranging.

    Fav Tracks:

    Obsession
Still in Love with my Ex
    Love Again
    Beyond Imagination
    Better without u

Unity by all means is her best crossover track to date…….

Neither album had a cohesive sound and alot of the production was sub par. Ms. Kelly has stronger songs :This is love,Love, BWY,Flshbk,Wrk,SILWMX,Evry Thought…IMO the Deluxe cuts should have been on the original!!! i.e “Love Again”,”No Man No Cry”….My opinion of a better Ms.Kelly: 1. Work 2.Ghetto 3. Like This 4. SILWMX 5.No Man No Cry 6.BWY 7.Love Again 8.Unity 9.somethin fast 10.somethin fast 11.Flashback 12. Love (different beat)

But past is past shes gonna shut down 2010!!!!

    February 19th, 2010 at 1:19 am

Right now i’d have to say Ms. Kelly, it was much more diverse & it convered all bases, urban, soulful, pop, overall appeal. But, Simply Deep was great too, & was kinda versatile & showed a lot of emotion.

I love both albums! however, my absolute favorite is Ms. Kelly! that album show’s a different side of Kelly and it has the most up tempo club hits!!!

my favorite songs from the album are
    Ghetto
    Like This
    Work (Put It In)

when she goes on tour I want her to sing all those songs!!!

my favorite album is Ms. Kelly. The songs have more depth and she sounds more comfortable singing. As far as confidence I honestly feel that Kelly just recently (about 2 years ago) became a confident solo artist. She has always had the talent but after the first DC album she shyed to a background singer. She used to outshine her bandmate all the time at first. Then she gave up suddenly. I’m sure its a lot more to the DC story than we will ever know or why she chose to part ways with Matthew. I just wish she had at least half the promo her bandmate has. This is the album that will solidify her spot as a solo artist. Ms. kelly would have done that if it was promoted.

Simply Deep vs Ms Kelly – good question

I will honestly say that i love them both equally – the fact that both albums are so tatlly different and yet it came from the same artists just lets you know how truly versatile she is . Simply deep had its uptemp cuts which i loved but what made me fall in love with that album were the soft jams – just picture having a bubble bath while listing to “havent told you” or “obsession” – the warmth and power in her voice and tone just sends you to a warm place – i love her for that. I love her entire album i have to say but if i had to choose my top 5 it would be

    simply deep (aside from dilemma)

    1 stole
    2 can’t nobody
    3 beyond imagination
    4 havent told you
    5 love/hate
    * simply deep is an honorable mention!!!!

Now Ms Kelly saw kelly venture into true rnb with a tinge of pop. She soars over the beats like a pro and she seems at home in original background from her dc days – i thorughly enjoyed this album from start to finish and you can her the strength in her voice and can tell the confidence gained that wasnt there initially – she is really coming into her own on this album and the slow cuts just left me in awe and “this is love” was definently a throwback to the Simply Deep era – love it. My top 5 beside the singles “Like This” and “Work” (Looooveeeee THis Track”)

    Ms Kelly

    1 comback
    2 flashback
3 still in love with my x
    4 better without u
    5 this is love
*This is love gets a special mention

I LOVE THE GROWTH BETWEEN EACH ALBUM AND I HOPE SHE NEVER STOPS GROWING AS AN ARTIST – BRING ON THE 3RD ALBUM – IM READY TO DANCE!!!

ps TO ANSWER THE QUESTION I LIKE BOTH ALBUMS FOR DIFF REASONS – IF I WANT TO RELAX THAN DEF SIMPLY DEEP. IF I WANT SOME SASS THEN DEF MS KELLY – BOTH ALBUMS ARE GOLD!!! MS KELLY BETTER WORK!!!!!!!

I like Ms. Kelly, but I LOVE Simply Deep. I feel it’s a classic album. The album is eight years old and I still play it constantly and still enjoy it immensely. My favorite songs from the album are “Stole”,”Haven’t Told You”,”Heaven”,”Train on a Track” and the amazing “Beyond Imagination”(which I would love to hear/see her perform live. I appreciate Simply Deep. Kelly dared to be different at a time when music was so typical and predictable. Her debut was a breath of fresh air;and it still is. I love the alternative side of Kelly. I love the r&b Diva in her as well. I think that with every album or project that Kelly has done she’s shown the world(or at least those who are willing to pay attention)how versatile she is. She has gone from pop alternative to r&b to dance and she’s done it all well. That is not even including the r&b and pop domination she achieved as 1/3 of Destiny’s Child. I love the music Kelly makes;but thus far, Simply Deep is my favorite. Hands down.

Ooooh,I forgot about Ms.Kelly The Deluxe Edition. I own that one too and I LOVE it. Once again, her versatility is undeniable. My favorites from that record are “Day Light”,”Love Again”(classic),”Unity”, “No Man No Cry”(my jam) and I love all of the house remixes: “Work”,”Day Light”, “Comeback”. The album was just hot.

    Oh,and Lyric Lee,

I’ve had plenty bubble baths to Kelly’s first album :) It’s just that kind of record.

I like both albums but ms kelly showed more excitement and allowed kelly rowland’s vioce to show. I just believe it was a matter of how the ablum was carried. On the “Simply Deep” ablum i couldn’t see all the songs as a single or video only a few, but for the “Ms Kelly” album I could see as videos and singles. It was just the order of the projects. She could have come out with “The show ft Tank” as her first single. I could see the video them takeing turns a showcase which they have to pay to continue to see. each time she would be in a different character. that would easily got her on 106 & park. then once she got ther attention Comeback, then love as a powerful balet. then if the three singles would have sucessfully reach viewers put one last single out with would be Interlude/ “Still in Love with My Ex remix ft Young texus ” That would have been the club banger.
In the end the mixer of R&b, Soul, And dance feel is what got me wanting for.

Ms. Kelly. Simply Deep was decent, but like Kelly herself indicated, you can tell that it was rushed. It was underdeveloped. With Ms. Kelly, every track was solid and had all the major components (i.e. great production, vocal AND lyrics). With most albums, there are songs that are missing an important element. Not the case with the Ms. Kelly tracks. My favorite songs were “The Show,” “Every Thought is You,” and “Love.”

Oh, and the “Diva Deluxe” edition of Ms. Kelly further enchanced the record. It was a great effort. “Love Again” is pure poetry. I really hate that her fomer label failed to promote this album to the maximum amount in America. I think that with the right promo and the right singles released, the album would have performed better.
