Kelly has been on heavy promotion this weekend at the Essence Music Festival. She did a little recruiting for her upcoming BET show, Chasing Destiny, alongside friends Trey Songz and Frank Gatson.

It was also reported that Kelly will be returning to FOX’s Empire. Returning? you ask… well if you recall, Kelly’s vocals were used on season 1, when her song, “I’m Dat Chick” from her album, “Here I Am“, was played in an episode. Well this go round, Kelly is reportedly going to appear in person!

Kelly Rowland will appear on the hit FOX show this fall, a source told E! News exclusively on Saturday, the Fourth of July, at the 2015 Essence Festival in New Orleans. The 34-year-old R&B singer will play Lucious Lyon’s mother in a flashback. SOURCE

Shortly after, she was spotted hanging out with the writers of Empire. Hmm…working on that script Kelly?

Close to a year after the release of her album, “Talk A Good Game,” Kelly Rowland is in the studio working on her follow-up LP.

“I’m at the very very beginning stages of the record. We’re at the point now where we are all talking – writers [and] producers – we’re all excited. There are fresh ideas coming into the studio right now. We’re trying different beats,” Kelly Rowland told Billboard. “It’s a really great start.”

Kelly Rowland Announces Year Of The Woman

Kelly Rowland has announced that the name of her upcoming fourth studio album with be Year of the Woman.

“I’m so excited to reveal the title of my fourth solo studio album,” she wrote in a post on her website. “For weeks I have been using the hashtag #YOTW which stands for my next album which is titled Year Of the Woman. This album is one of my greatest pieces of work and I cannot wait to share it with you guys!”

Rowland has been in the studio with several hitmakers including Rico Love, Sean Garrett and T-Minus working on the new album, which is anchored by lead single “ICE,” featuring Lil Wayne.

“I’m making this album for my ladies, oh, yes, and it is strong,” the diva told Vegas magazine. “All of the producers I’ve been working with get the concept so much that they brought in a little more aggressive—and sometimes masculine—approach, but there is a really incredible top line: I want to tell women how incredible we are, how our intuition is so spot-on. Sometimes we don’t listen to it, but it is the thing that can actually make us happier.”
