Destiny’s Child released The Writing’s On The Wall - the title “…spells out what will happen in a relationship if people treat each other a certain way. It really shows what’s really going on” said Knowles.
The single “Bills, Bills, Bills” was certified gold and topped the Billboard Hot 100 for a week, the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Sales chart for a week, and the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart for 9 weeks.

Destiny’s Child became a 3some when it was announced that Farrah Franklin would be leaving the group. Knowles said of Franklin’s departure: “We’re sorry that Farrah won’t be with us for the long run, but we wish her the best in the future. It wasn’t a management decision, it was a group decision. Destiny’s Child is going to be fine. We’ve done three or four shows already without Farrah and they’ve been phenomenal.”

Destiny’s Child released a holiday LP - 8 Days Of Christmas with 3 tracks written by Beyoncé.
Destiny’s Child cancelled their European tour in wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Knowles stated: “We’re always excited when we perform for our fans in Europe and the UK. Postponing these shows was the hardest thing for us because we truly enjoy the fans. We made that decision the very last second after taking a hard look at the state of the world right now.”
The gals performed at The Concert For New York City benefit concert in New York City (later released as an LP) with proceeds going to 9/11 charities.
Destiny’s Child also performed in a Washington, DC concert benefiting the 9/11 attack victims.

On July 2nd, Destiny’s Child performed in Philadelphia as part of the worldwide Live 8 concerts. The mission of the concerts was to raise awareness of the on-going poverty in Africa and to pressure the G8 leaders to take action by doubling aid, canceling debt, and delivering trade justice for Africa.
